Astrology & Music of the Outer Planets
Who: Dr. Nicholas Owens
Nicholas has been studying Astrology since 1992 and has recently attained the FAA Diploma. By day, he is a practising Psychiatrist and holds a Graduate Diploma in Philosophy. He has studied piano and organ at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in the 1980s and won a national prize in advanced organ studies in 1994. He spends time writing about Astrology and composing music.
Nicholas has written a piece of music that illustrates the movement of the outer planets from Jupiter to Pluto for the years between 1900 and 2025, and combined this with a series of images for each year so that you can 'hear' the interweaving aspects that the planets make over time. He will examine relationships between music and astrology both past and present and use this to contextualise the musical composition that he will present on the night.
The evenings' presentation will focus on;
