'Plantonic Inversion through the Infinite'

Who: Wolfgang Devine

Wolfgang has had since his youth a strong interest in the Platonic Solids and Mathematics. When he met the voilinist, Immo Sykora, and saw his models of inverting solids, he immediately knew that their depth can only be understood through Projective Geometry. He was inspired to work out the curves of the moving points of the models and presented the basic ideas of this new kind of transformation in two volumes on the tetrahedron and the octahedron. In 1998 there was an exhibition at the School for Spiritual Science in Dornach, Switzerland, and a conference where Wolfgang presented the mathematical ideas.

The models to be introduced have an experiential character and form our thinking to grasp the whole in transformation. The thinking is prepared to feel into the spiritual process of involution in an exact way. Rudolf Stiener related this process to the excarnation/incarnation process and the transition between physical and spiritual consciousness as well as for the relation between warmth and gravity. Working with these models has a balancing effect, as practical skills, a strong thinking and a feeling for the aesthetics of symmetry, are needed.
